A trip and other musings...

My whirlwind work related trip has ended and we are still recovering. As per usual, Ms. K, was a bit unsettled by her new surroundings and gave us a dose of displeasure at 3:00 a.m. the first night in the hotel. Mama had to go to the office the next day on zero..count them...ZERO hours of sleep. (yes, I was still awake at 3:00 worrying about some yucky news for one of my clients). After the first rocky night of no sleep – Kenzie was a doll, but if I had a “do over” button, I wouldn’t make my poor family come on a business trip with me. The trips are always crazy chaos, and this one was no different. Lesson learned.

Other amusing musings would include Kenzie this morning..discovering an eyeliner and using it as a lipstick. She then declared that she wanted to get in the shower with me. After promptly disrobing the child followed by her solid refusal to get in the shower (she LOVES the shower!!)... Doug and I watcher her meander over to the floor runner (diaperless) and make an overt decision to pee-pee right there. Ya know, kind of like how a cat finds the only carpeted room you own - to dislodge a hairball. Like there isn’t hardwood floor right below their immediate position, that would be an easy to clean up target. NO. It must occur on the carpet runner. REALLY. And then, must she really follow it up by putting Mama’s clean change of underwear on as a cap, while Mama’s stuck under the shower water and telling her not too (simultaneously wondering...is it really that weird... that my child is putting my panties on her head??)

This kid is a Ball o’ fire!! Never a dull moment around here......
I find myself wondering if I really want to include this type of stuff in Kenzie’s Lifebook (which this blog is turning into). But, I certainly can’t censor the reality out of our world. This kind of stuff is what our days are made of. We get a good chuckle out of it, and I imagine she will too... some day....
