I'm no Martha...
Kenzie regularly loves to color, and breaks about 12 crayons in each art session. We have miniscule little tidbits left over. I was excited to read about Martha's Crazy Crayon recipe (click the dots for the recipe link) and proceeded to ready all the crayon scraps for building of toddler sized crayons.
My first clue that it was a project gone bad, should have been when they didn't melt in the prescribed time, nor 10 minutes later, or 10 minutes after that. Finally, when they were smooshable, I took a toothpick and tried to stir them into flat swirls. No such luck. The colors ran together and they looked like lumpy circular shaped little blocks of murk.
Martha says to pop 'em in the freezer.. and they'll pop right out. Another chuckle. My cupcake tins are still sitting in the freezer waiting for the stuff to "pop right out" today.
Perhaps my crayons were an off brand and the wax just doesn't melt the same as the expensive Crayola's. Perhaps this project just sucks. But, I want dear Kenzie to know...that Mama tried!!!
