Our new favorite camping spot
We did a lot of really great camping in California. When we moved back to the Midwest, we have been sorely disappointed in the lack of options that compare in quality to the CA experience. This weekend, we did find a really nice spot however and are planning frequent future returns. We also had one of the camping trips that encourages a true love of camping. It was perfect in every way.
Immediately upon our arrival to the site right on the water, Kenzie jumped right in. The water was a bit muddy in comparison to the sandy beach we visited later...but she later exclaimed that "swimming in the mud" was her favorite part of the trip.
A sandy beach was a short walk away, where we went for cleaner swimming, sandcastles, and other silliness...
At the site, we enjoyed bubbles, smores, perfect sleeping weather & accomodations, not to mention the best supply of dirt and never-ending bugs (locusts, caterpillars, treefrogs, oh my!!!) to hunt.
The gal was all smiles all weekend.. (as were her gleeful parents whom are already planning another trip).
