Advent: Day 2
The link we removed from our advent chain today was:
How does one make snowflakes with a 2.5 year old?? Use some lovely sheets of music, have an adult do the folding and cutting ...and have the 2.5 year old tell you what shapes to implement. Here we have some lovely snowflakes that are born of her suggested shapes. I, of course, being the helpful parent that I am, gave her examples to consider (circles, triangles, squares). She, however, names:
Cow
Kitty Cat
Choo-choo train
Dinosaur
Leaves
Oh my, she challenged our abilities to cut thick folds of paper into precise shapes. But the outcome was original and very pretty. She wore them as hats, tossed them like frisbees and decided that they should be taped to the window by her art table instead of dangling from our bannister.
She's the boss!
We also made snowmen out of play-dough as a family tonight to make up for not building one yesterday.
