Imagine
I feel a bit badly that the frequency of entries have slowed down lately - but I realize that I keep saying the same things about our days, and all the photos I take end up looking the same as the ones I've already taken. This doesn't mean that Kenzie is any less amazing, of course.
The imagination on this kid is stellar, and it blooms more and more daily. Being a creative person myself, I adore watching this development. We now have a bunch of stuffed friends who move around with us everywhere. The favorite of them is a rotational responsibility. Today, it's a dog from her former nanny. He's been carried in a ladybug Easter basket most of the day, "drank" from a bottle, and been "very, very, brave" whilst being tossed from the top of the stairs. The other day, I managed to complete the deck painting - while Kenzie meandered about the yard, teaching the stuffies how to climb trees, use the slipper slide, and to be "very, very, brave" while being tossed from the upper deck, to the one below.
Yesterday, we enjoyed an Elmo movie that we borrowed from the library. The members of STOMP were in it and they made music with everything imaginable. Kenzie began mimicking the musicians, so I supplied her with some noise making utensils and we banged and drummed for a really long time. We pinged pots, boxes, chimes on toys, rocking chairs, leggos, books - you get the picture. It was quite the musical afternoon. She went down for her nap nearly an hour & a half late, we were having so much fun. When she laid down and stated the pot was now a pillow - I knew the nap was imminent.
We have a major brush pile sitting in the drive today. Kenzie pretended that it was a jungle, climbing gingerly through the limbs (while I distracted myself from the danger with the camera). She was a lion, a tiger, a cheetah, and a bunny narrating her progress through the trees - all the while yelling out a "Hakuna Mattata" every so often. We don't have the Lion King movie, so I'm not sure where she's picked that up from.
And, when Mama says "No, you may not have a popsicle" for the zillionth time...well, we just pretend that the sweatshirt string is one. Um. Yum.

It seems like you and Kenzie have similar days to me and my 2 year old, Lola! She's crazy for painting, making crown, decorating shoeboxes, and putting her baby to sleep. It's so inspiring to read about other mom and kid days... i haven't posted on my blog in so long. you've encouraged me to go back to the penning of our happy days...
