A birthday card for Nana
I've been terribly lazy about posting our crafty endeavors here lately. It seems I only have enough energy for the crafty activity & clean up. There isn't a lot of spare patience for the photographing and uploading to blogs tasks.
But, I really loved how this handmade card turned out for Nana (my Mom).
It was even worth the mess!
(to make: cut about 2-3 inches off of a paper towel/toilet paper tube. Slice along one side almost entirely to the other end. Fold out the "petals" and paint. Add other painted embellishments to complete the flower. If patience allows, add bugs, grass, etc.)

okay that is genius...would have never thought to use a toilet paper roll... you are clever...may i call you Martha? LOL
such a cute idea! i always think it's a shame to toss (well, recycle really) all those paper towel and toilet paper rolls. i always loved making stuff out of them as a kid.
What a great idea!! We are using it as inspiration to make our own version of your Nana Birthday Card! My daughter is 6 and she will cut out and glue the various pieces herself. She is colouring in the petals as I do this thank you note and she will write the message to Nana herself!
Thanks again - from Annette and Emily of Auckland, New Zealand
