Paperwhites

As mentioned before, one of our advent activities was making Christmas vases and planting paperwhite bulbs in them. Immediately after Christmas, I removed the rooted bulbs from our handmade containers and potted them in an everyday kind of flower pot.

They started flowering this past week. Kenzie was thrilled and now checks them daily for new flowers.



She thinks they smell kind of "stinky." I have to agree.

(and although Christmas is long gone, yes, we're still wearing Christmas theme clothes. This is a sure sign that we've been painting that day. Kenzie's Nana bought her an obscene amount of Christmas clothing, and they definitely won't fit her next year...so we're donating them to the pile of appropriate painting attire (a.k.a. soon to be destroyed!)
