Snails
Kenzie enjoys being outside, and typically we head out for a while in the morning before Nanny Mary arrives and I begin work. She always seems on a mission in the morning wandering around the patio on a snail hunt. She chants "Sna"..."Sna" as she heads to the flowerbeds, or any other spot where she’s seen a snail before. It seems that she's aware that they are only "out" in the mornings, as she doesn't do this at other times of the day. When the hunt results in success...She gently picks them up – {as she’s learned that a slight squeeze... results in a green goo all over her hand... and a freaked out mother}. Every once in a while she’ll try to stick that little pointer finger into the opening to coax the snail out, but typically – she’ll wait patiently for him to come out on his own. Then there’s a quick jab to the snail head... and back in he goes.
