Blueberry whine...
Give a toddler 2.5 seconds unsupervised, and she'll smoosh her blueberries in the carpet. We've been searching for a leather chair for our living room and finally found one last night. It wasn't exactly what we'd envisioned - but the price made it nearly so! While Doug and I were wrestling the chair through the door - my darling little princess tossed a bowl of blueberries on the floor.
Um, that would be a.. light.. carpeted.. floor...and naturally she followed that up with a little dance on top of them. Holy freak outs!!
Doug and I desperately hate carpet. We love hardfloors and fully intend to have hardwoods laid down in the living room. But, not tomorrow for craps sakes.
After much sighing and scrubbing and wondering who the heck would give a toddler an empty room and a bowl of blueberries (ok, I admit it was I) -- we did get the stains out. The room looks lovely with the new chair and I'm still ignoring a few blueberry trails that went unnoticed on the hardwoods.
I've been too busy with work lately to make posts here. I sure haven't been arty or crafty. I've barely decorated my home. But, a milestone is about to occur. The laptop which binds me to my job -- is being wrapped in bubble wrap, boxed, and sent back to the agency for the new Director! I've been training her on my position responsibilities, still managing crisis situations, client emails (& even a visit to a family yesterday who adopted a baby from Kansas!!)...and amazingly - I think I'm ready to let go. I'm tired of working and tired of being pulled simultaneously by my little girlie and that job. I think a transition to fewer work hours (although difficult with no childcare) was good for me. Kind of like a slow weaning...
I still have a few more weeks of responsibilities, but the ball & chain of a laptop is hitting the mail tomorrow. Amen.
