Blossoming Imagination
Kenzie is becoming incrementally more imaginative with each passing day. I now see her expanding the use for common objects in a way that they aren't intended. Of course, this is common and nothing uniquely special to her - but I enjoy it immensely. Last night, we missed her typical bedtime by a bit as she was playing with these nesting cups in many different ways.
First, she served "hot coffee" in them. We got all hopped up on imaginary caffeine. Then they became hats for a few stuffed animals who had also participated in the coffee binge. Then, she discovered she could suction cup them to her little face -- and that Mama could too. We did that for a rather long while...long enough to leave slight purple circles on our faces from the suction. The fun ended when she walked out of her room and heaved a cup over the staircase in order to hear it crash to the floor below.
Um....Oh, that's right, it's BEDTIME!

This has been done at my house also. I have two daughters, now 11 and 8. We did this not to long ago so can you imagine the three of us walking around with big hickies on our mouths for a couple of hours. It did provide a good laugh though.
