Why this week hates me and vice versa
Kenzie is becoming the most loving little critter. Her double armed hugs ~ ending with us cheek to cheek...and a little hand patting me on the back are the best thing in my world. Her little rump backing into my lap, while flapping her little hands in the "book" sign, are a close second. Thank goodness for all that sunshine...as the rain clouds have been hovering over the household this week.
Or, more to the point, a leaky kitchen faucet has been raining on the household this week. A seemingly small leak resulted in a call to the plumber, resulted in a referral to "Quick Dry" to dry the place out, which resulted in cabinet floors being ripped out, dehumidiers and large fans a blowing(creating the tone of a jet in the kitchen), and estimates from a "build-back" expert that are flabbergasting. Mold was removed, drywall was removed, and our pennies went right along with it.
All this, before I head out tomorrow on my business trip for the next four days. My heart throbs at the prospect of missing the precious time with the little darling - but I keep reminding myself that 3.5 days away is a small price to pay for working at home the rest of the time. Here's wondering what amazing things I'll miss in Kenzie's daily path of discovery and learning....
