8th grader

 

You, my love, are gorgeous!  Today begins your 8th grade year and you left for it with a smile on your face (& your lunch forgotten in the fridge!).  You do well in school, but your favorite part is socializing at school.  

I was so proud when you came home and told me about welcoming two new girls to your lunch table, because they appeared out of their element and scared.  You are such a good and inclusive person who makes me terribly proud.

Welcome to your last year of middle school!  We're looking forward to seeing what you make of this year and hope you'll make yourself too! 

**You passed me up in height two inches ago and fortunately, those size 11 shoes don't look all that large connected to your endless legs.

To Oregon, in the RV

 

This summer was a busy one and we'll all remember renovating the RV together and then traveling to Oregon in it.  We treated you to a viewing of Robin Williams "RV" movie and hysterically have a few adventures from this trip that would work perfectly for a sequel.  The bomb  (tire exploding) was probably all of our (least) favorite! There was also that little water problem that needed repair - & - your dog bit the poor mechanic in the butt.  That wasn't very awesome either.

In Oregon, we saw the big rock from the Goonies movie, Cannon Beach & Crater Lake.  We also learned that we are the most terrible crab fisherman that there ever was...& that you absolutely cannot drive a boat (unless everyone wants to drive in circles!)

1st Soccer Game, Fall 2014

And so begins another soccer season, with your daddy as head coach.  This year was the year that girls were faced with the decision based on whether to pay big, huge, massive dollars to go "competitive," stay on the Academy team or even move down a level and play on a Rec Team.  We opted to stick with the Academy, convinced that you'd have the same experience with this team as you would with the competitive label.  Almost every other girl from your team made the same decision.  We lost two girls who went competitive, but they were new to the team.  The gals you've been playing with for years are sticking with the Corinthians too!

So, your first game was slated against Real, a competitive team!  Your dad was so cute and nervous all morning, waiting for the 1:00 game - he couldn't think about ..anything.. else!

You guys hit the field and came alive, battling throughout the match.

And, you came out with the WIN!  Corinthians 1, Real 0.

Nana & Poppy's 50th Anniversary

All the cousins came together in Kansas for the celebration of Nana & Poppy's milestone anniversary.  A great time was had! We visited many pools and even drug Poppy and Nana into the water.  We're all so lucky to have each other!

Swim Team

Your fist year on swim team together!  The year was great fun and the photographers shots were perfect & adorable, but I snapped these with my iPhone.

More Swimmin'

Another excellent meet - which was super fun to watch.  This meet took place at the neighboring Knolls Pool.  You swam in a relay, the 100 Free, 50 Free and 50 Back.

Corinthians Soccer

Your competitive spirit has really come alive this year during the soccer season.  Your coach (dad) is so proud of your defensive skills and you are great fun to watch out on the field.
